Biography:
Dr. Armstrong joined the faculty fall 2007 as an Associate Professor. He received his Ph.D. and M.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice and his B.A. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, College Park. He has previously taught at Southern Illinois University and Arizona State University as an Assistant Professor. He was awarded the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences Anderson Paper Award in 2003 and the ASU West Partnership for Community Development Faculty Fellowship in 2001. His work has appeared in Justice Quarterly, Crime and Delinquency, and Journal of School Violence, among others. His current research interests include Criminal Justice Policy and Program Evaluation, Criminological Theory, and Offense Patterns with an emphasis on understanding changes in specialization over the life-course.
