Michael Cavanaugh
Michael R. Cavanaugh, Jr. earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Louisiana Lafayette. He furthered his academic career with a Masters of Arts in Criminal Justice at Sam Houston State University with a thesis entitled, "The Legality and Liability of School Searches after New Jersey v. T.L.O."
Mr. Cavanaugh's areas of interest are Criminal Law, Civil Liability under Section 1983, Death Penalty, Drug Use and Abuse, Juvenile Delinquency, Organizational Theory Application, War on Drugs, War on Terror, and Public Policy.
Mr. Cavanaugh's current research is focused on school search law, death penalty application, drug courts, and the use of preventive health care in prisons.
