Costa Rica Study Abroad Trip

Dates: TBA        Cost: TBA

The name Costa Rica means "Rich Coast." Situated on a land bridge between two continents, Costa Rica has the Caribbean Sea on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. Costa Rica's lush coastal forests are home to many of Central America's vast numbers of orchids, birds, butterflies, and animals. Costa Rica is a natural playground full of tropical forests, native wildlife, active volcanoes and pristine beaches. Costa Rica is well known for its peaceful lifestyle, egalitarian society, stable government, excellent medical care and extraordinary natural beauty. Known as the "Switzerland of Latin America," Costa Rica abolished its military in 1948 and has a long history of peace and prosperity both internally and with its neighbors.

San Jose is the capital of Costa Rica and the most cosmopolitan city in Central America. It is the political, economic, and cultural center of the country. San Jose is 3,750 feet above sea level and has spring-like temperatures year-round.

While in San Jose, students will be staying at Hotel don Fadrique, an elegant villa-style hotel in San Pedro.  While in Jaco, students will be visiting the beach and staying in the Best Western Jaco Beach Hotel located near the beach.

Join us in learning about criminal justice in Central America. Students will visit related sites, including courts, corrections and police.
