Dr. Travis Franklin joined the faculty in 2008 after completing his Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Washington State University. His research interests focus primarily on criminal court decision making and offender punishment. His recent research activities have addressed the influence of race and ethnicity (as well as other extralegal factors) on the prosecution and sentencing of criminal offenders in state and federal courts for the purpose of better understanding disparate outcomes. Findings from these and other research efforts have appeared in Justice Quarterly, Crime & Delinquency, Criminal Justice and Behavior, and Journal of Criminal Justice.
