Rick Lewis started the Ph.D. program in the College of Criminal Justice in the fall of 2013. Rick graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville Texas in the spring of 2009 with a B.S. in biology and a minor in statistics. During his undergraduate career he was active in research and attended several professional level conferences. Rick continued to conduct research in the areas of ecology, evolution, and behavior while working on his M.S. in biology also obtained at Sam Houston State University in the spring of 2012. During a field experiment in west Texas Rick was introduced to biosocial criminology by a faculty member of the College of Criminal Justice at Sam Houston State University which started his academic career in the field of criminology. Rick's primary research interests are human behavior, using ArcGIS to map crime and criminogenic related portions of ecology, the role of genetic factors in antisocial behavior, neuropsychology, biological psychology, and evolutionary psychology. Recently Rick has begun training and working in a genetic lab extracting, quantifying, and genotyping samples collected by colleagues and researchers.
