Diana Kukua

Biography:

Adjunct Instructor Diana Kukua joined the College of Criminal Justice in the Fall of 2012. Instructor Kukua earned a Master's degree in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management from Sam Houston State University in the Fall of 2011, and a Bachelor's degree in English with a Business Administration minor from Sam Houston State University in the Spring of 1994. She retired from a position as a Senior Warden with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in the summer of 2011, after 31 years of service. Instructor Kukua brings many years of corrections experience to her teaching role as an Adjunct in the Department of Criminal Justice. Her experience includes extensive correctional administration, management, staff supervision, program administration, human resources, and offender classification and management. Instructor Kukua returned to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Human Resources Specialist IV in the EEO Intake section of the Employee Relations Department in June 2012, and returned to retirement, effective January 15, 2015. Instructor Kukua is a certified Dispute Mediator, and conducted Dispute Resolution sessions to resolve employee issues within the Agency, as part of her Human Resources duties. In addition, Instructor Kukua has served as both a Facilitator and Presenter with the SHSU-Correctional Management Institute.
