Sparks Veasey, MD, JD is a Board Certified forensic pathologist who has served as a medical examiner and forensic pathologist in multiple jurisdictions in Texas. He obtained his undergraduate education from the University of Texas in Austin and his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Methodist Hospital in Dallas and a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He did his forensic pathology fellowship training at the Office of the Medical Investigator in New Mexico. He has a law degree from South Texas College of Law.

He is formerly the Montgomery County Director of Quality Assurance and Special Projects. In addition to practicing as a forensic pathologist, he has served as the Director of the Forensic Science Master's Program at Sam Houston State University while a faculty member of the College of Criminal Justice. He additionally has served as an Assistant District Attorney in Brazoria County. Dr. Veasey is a past member of the Texas Forensic Science Commission.
