SHSU Student Financial Aid for Graduate Students
Approximately 60% of our student body receives financial assistance through federal,state, and local programs administered by the Student Financial Aid Office. Grants, loans, and scholarships are available to qualified students. To apply for financial aid at SHSU, students must submit the most current Free Application for Federal Student Aid" (FAFSA.ed.gov).
Veterans Assistance
Veterans of World Wars I & II, the Korean War, Vietnam, and the Cold War, who have no remaining federal educational benefits, are eligible for benefits under the Hazelwood Act if they were residents of Texas at the time they entered the armed forces, are now residents, and were honorably discharged. To qualify for benefits, the veteran must file a request with the office of Financial Aid at SHSU and provide a certified or photocopy of discharge papers and an affidavit from the Veterans Administration certifying the veteran is no longer eligible for benefits. Students eligible for this benefit should contact the Registrar’s Office prior to enrolling in classes.
