Cuernavaca is a mid-size city of over half a million people, about an hour and a half south of Mexico City . It has long been a popular weekend destination for people from Mexico City . The 75 degree average temperature has earned Cuernavaca the name "City of Eternal Spring."

While learning Spanish, officers will have the opportunity to tour prisons and police stations, network with high officials of law enforcement, as well as participate in cultural excursions and events. LEMIT will provide scholarships for up to 15 officers for this two-week program to cover instruction, accommodations and food .

Please recommend anyone in your department that you feel will benefit from this program. However, it is best to submit early to assure acceptance. Passports are required. The program is scheduled for the first two weeks in March.
