The Master of Science in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management for Military Police is specially designed to meet the needs of active duty service personnel who desire to obtain a quality graduate degree from the highly respected SHSU College of Criminal Justice. While the program parallels the generic Leadership and Management degree requirements, special sections of certain courses are designed to meet the unique needs of military police responsibilities. For example, the course Building Democratic Justice Systems Abroad operationalizes DoD Directive 3000.05 pertaining to establishing civil authority and stability in the wake of combat action. In addition, six credits are awarded for completed military leadership preparation, e.g., the Armyís Captainís Career Course.
The online format allows students to enroll in two 7-½ week courses per semester. This enables them to complete the program in two years from home or wherever they have access to the internet. The program also uses a student-friendly course delivery and learning platform that includes access to technical support 24-hours a day, each and every day of the week.
As a designated preferred school for military education, SHSU direct bills DoD for tuition costs, up to the current limit of $4,500 annually. Additional financial aid is also available. Additional information on veterans assistance can be found at the Veterans Resource Center.
