Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society: The Phi chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma at Sam Houston State University is an active chapter and was voted best website for Spring 2005 by the national organization.

National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice (NABCJ): NABCJ is dedicated to the purpose of acting upon the needs, concerns, and contributions of African Americans and other people of color as they relate to the administration of equal justice.

The Society of Forensic Science (SFS): The Society of Forensic Science is a special interest group at SHSU, consisting of individuals who are interested in working together to expand and share their knowledge of Forensic Science. The society participates in various volunteer and fundraising activities throughout the year.

Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity: The purpose of Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity is to form a strong bond uniting students and teachers of the law with members of the Bench and Bar in a fraternal fellowship designed to advance the ideals of liberty and equal justice under law; to stimulate excellence in scholarship; to inspire the virtues of compassion and courage; to foster integrity and professional competence; to promote the welfare of its members; and to encourage their moral, intellectual, and cultural advancement; so that each member may enjoy a lifetime of honorable professional and public service.
